Judy Love, 77, Shelby, N.C., obituary

Judy Love, age 77, of Shelby, N.C., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Atrium Health of the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Judy was born on Friday, Oct. 3, 1947, in Steele County, to the late Byron and Blanche Munson Nichols. She graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1965. Judy graduated from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in 1969.

Her Christian faith was evident in her service to the Lord and to numerous churches. Judy served as a pastor’s wife for 45 years in five different churches. During that time, Judy worked to establish four Christian schools, taught Sunday School, offered counseling, served in Ladies’ ministries, music ministry and working as the church bookkeeper.

In recent years, she was an English instructor at Ambassador Baptist College in Lattimore, N.C.

Judy enjoyed gardening and sewing in her spare time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya Love; and a sister, Janet Hansen and a nephew, Lee Fawver.

Left to cherish the memories of Judy’s life are her beloved husband of 55 years, Dr. Bruce Love; daughter, Victories Love-Pfau (Steve); sons, Chad Love (Lisa) and Rodney Love (Angela); grandchildren, Elizabeth Weston, Alisa Pfau, Laura Pfau, Zachariah Pfau, Jessica Love, Andrew Love, Joanna Love, Nathanael Love, Michaela Love and Caleb Love; great-grandchildren, Jay Weston, Luke Weston and Noah Weston; sisters, Joyce Fawver, Janelle Thorson, Jolene Enerson and Jean Kolterman.

A service to remember her life and ministry was held at Ambassador Baptist College on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Dr. Alton Beal, Rev. James Davidson and Mr. Matthew Hanke presided over the service. A funeral service was conducted Friday, May 23, 2025, at Bensalem Baptist Church in Bensalem, Pa., with her son, Pastor Rodney Love, officiating. Interment followed in the Rosedale Memorial Park in Bensalem.
