Keith Wayne Barker, 63, Dodge Center

Keith “Skeeter” Barker, 63, of Orland, California, a long time resident of Dodge Center, passed away Sept. 16, 2015 at his home.  A memorial service will be held on Oct. 3, 2015 in Orland, CA at the Moose Lodge, with a memorial service being held in Dodge Center at a later date. Keith “Skeeter” was born the son of Orval and Adeline Barker on July 8, 1952 in Great Lakes, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Diana Johnson in Dodge Center on Oct. 9, 1971 and had three children, Michael, Melissa and Trisha, they later divorced in 1994.  “Skeeter” joined the Navy Seabees in 1969 and graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1970.  He worked for McNeilus Steel in Dodge Center, McNeilus Auto and Truck in Dodge Center, Midland Construction in Dodge Center, EUC in Oklahoma, PAR Electric in California and most recently worked for TND Power in Iowa.  He enjoyed playing his drums in the band, going to garage sales, fixing up old cars and especially loved going to the races.  He later was united in marriage to Diana Livingston in Orland, California on July 7, 2007. Keith is survived by his wife, Diana Barker of Orland, California; one son, Michael (Shelly) Barker of Dodge Center, two daughters, Melissa (Chris) Vavra, Trisha (Curtis) Hortop both of Owatonna;  grandchildren Mason, Michael, Randy, Landen, Madysen and Dylan; mother of his children, Diana Johnson of Owatonna;  two sisters, Cheryl (Phil) Stowers of Dodge Center, Wanda (Jon) Flattum of Lakeland, Minnesota; nieces and nephews, Pat, Martha and Jason; step-daughter, Jennifer Drewry of Chico, California, two step-sons, James Lindell and Allen Lindell both of Orland, California;  seventeen step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.Memorials are preferred to the family. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Bayport, Minnesota.
