Larry Rhoades, 72, Owatonna

Larry Raymon Rhoades, 72, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

He was born in Owatonna, on Dec. 17, 1951, to L.R. “Dusty” and Ruth (Johnson) Rhoades. He graduated from OHS in 1970 and attended Austin Vo-Tech. Larry was a mechanic for many years, then worked at OTC until his retirement. In life, he loved gardening in his yard, woodworking, painting, baking, fishing, and building sandcastles.

He is survived by two children: Mike (Jo Young) Rhoades and Cyndee (Tom) Zylstra; three grandchildren: Zander, Madison, and Andrea; former wife Mary Rhoades; 10 siblings; Dian King, Alan (Linda) Rhoades, Peggy Karsten, Karen (Archie) Kasparek, Rhonda Rhoades, David (Leslie) Rhoades, Kathy Anderson, Nancy (Jim) Goshey, Sara (Keith) Hopke, Darin Rhoades; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents; brothers-in-law Bill, Richard, and Steve; and niece Courtney.
