Le Roy (Le) Allen Hoffman, died of natural causes, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in Stillwater, MN.
Le was born March 24, 1945, Morristown, MN. He graduated from high school in Medford, MN, and finished his education at Mankato Business School, Mankato, MN. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Brady in 1965 and together they raised their children: Troy, Krista and Nathan. Le traveled and sold farm machinery for Owatonna Manufacturing for 20 years, moving several times and ultimately settling in Brookings, SD. While in Brookings, he accepted a job working as a sales manager at Edney Distributing, Lakeville, MN. Le enjoyed traveling and visiting his implement dealers before retiring at age 66. In 2023, he and Carolyn moved to Stillwater to be closer to their family.
Le will be lovingly remembered for his gardening passion, asparagus patch, and the generous donations of produce he provided for the food shelf in Brookings. Le’s pride and joy was the hunting cabin at Grygla, MN, and the time spent there with family. Many MEA weekends were spent at the cabin with his grandchildren, sons, and son-in-law. While there, they would dirt bike, ride four-wheelers and make forts. Le enjoyed showing his grandchildren how to hunt and taught them to love the outdoors. A competitive spirit, Le made it challenging for the grandchildren to win at any game. He and Carolyn enjoyed retirement and took many amazing trips. A sport enthusiast and multi-sport athlete himself, Le enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their many sporting events.
Le was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Hoffman and Edith Kneifel Hoffman, his sister, Lavonne King and son-in-law, Warren Hoesing.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Hoffman; children, Troy (Kathryn) Hoffman of Minnetonka, MN, Krista (Brian) Wenner of Stillwater, MN, Nathan (Angela) Hoffman of Orono, MN; grandchildren, Logan and Gavin Hoffman, Braden and Gretchen Wenner, Ava, Lachlan and Porter Hoffman; sisters, Patricia Keller and Carol (Vince) Steinbauer and brother-in-law, Gary King.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church (205 2nd Ave NE, Medford, MN) at 10:30 AM with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM at the church. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 9:15 AM.
