Margaret Grisim, 85, Blooming Prairie

Margaret Elaine Grisim, age 85 of Blooming Prairie, passed away on Friday, Feb. 7, 2020 at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie.
Margaret was born July 4, 1934 in Freeborn County, to Ernest and Lena (Williamson) Maixner. She attended school in Freeborn County and graduated from Blooming Prairie
High School in 1952 and worked at Minnesota Telephone Company in Blooming Prairie, where she met the love of her life. On Sept. 11, 1954, Margaret was united in mar- riage to Arnold “Buzz” Grisim at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. Margaret and Buzz both worked for Continental Phone Company in Blooming Prairie. They lived in Blooming Prairie for 25 years together before moving to
Hector, Cannon Falls, Lake City, and living in Northfield before moving back to Blooming Prairie in 2019.
Margaret and Buzz celebrated 65 years of marriage. Buzz was her world and she missed him terribly after his death on Sept. 12, 2019. Margaret loved to read and enjoyed time with family and friends.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, David and Donna Maixner, Blooming Prairie; brother-in-law, Del Sommer of Owatonna; nephews and nieces, Bonnie Pevy, Sacramento, Calif., Larry (Jeannie) Rendall, Rose- ville, Calif., Debra Sommer, Owatonna, Dennis Sommer, Rochester, Amy (David) Evans, Kasson, and Aaron (Kristyn) Maixner, Byron; great nieces and nephews, Christopher (Britney) Rendall, Jim (Paula) Pevy, McKenzie Evans, Claire Maixner, Addie Evans, and Noah Maixner; great great nieces and nephews, Rebekah, Luke, Sam, Jonathan, and Nathaniel Pevy; along with cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Buzz; her parents and grandparents; sister and brother-in-law, Norma Jeanne (Bob) Rendall; and sister, Donna Mae Sommer.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Prairie Manor Care Center and Heather Haus in Blooming Prairie. Their love and dedication to Margaret will never be forgotten.
A memorial service was held on Monday, Feb. 17 in the Prairie Manor Chapel of Prairie Manor Care Center, Blooming Prairie. Interment was at the Cannon Falls Cemetery, Cannon Falls on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, Prairie Manor Care Center, or St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls.
