Mary Alice Krippner, 82, of Owatonna, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2025.

She was born April 15, 1943, in Owatonna, the daughter of Charles and Evelyn (Ballstadt) Green.

Mary was united in marriage to Alfred Robert Krippner on Feb. 14, 1961, in Owatonna. They were blessed with two sons, Robert and David.

Mary started working at her family’s restaurant business, The Kitchen, in 1962. She later bought the business from her mom in the 1970s and continued to work until she sold the business on June 1, 1995. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her dogs and gardening. Her and her brother, Fred, would often talk about her love for flowers and landscape design.

She is survived by her son, Robert Krippner (Kathy) of Hastings; brother, Fred Green of Owatonna; sister, Susan Green of Denver; grandchildren, Bobbi Lee Krippner of Eagan, and Sarah (Jeremy) Schlichter of Owatonna; niece, Brandi (Nick) Hofmann of Shorewood; and two great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; parents; son, David Krippner; and granddaughter, Mary Sue Krippner.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna. Visitation will be at 12 p.m. until the time of service. Light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the service. Mary will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery following the reception.
