Nancy Leder, 82, formerly of Owatonna

Nancy Jane Leder (née Latta), of Burnsville, and formerly of Owatonna, passed away on Feb. 27, 2025, after a short illness at Fairview Southdale in Edina. She was 82 years old.
Friends may greet the family beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna. Memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Light lunch to follow the service at the family residence.
Born on Dec. 18, 1942, in Denver, Colo., Nancy grew up in Carlin, Nev., raised by her parents, Howard Latta and Jessie Latta Thompson. She was the youngest of four siblings—Arthur Latta, Veda Dabney, and Charles Latta—all of whom preceded her in death.
In 1964, Nancy moved to Redding, Calif., where she met the love of her life, Arlin Leder, in 1965. They married on April 16, 1966, and built a life together, sharing 58 years of marriage and raising three sons. In 1984, they relocated to Owatonna, Minnesota, where they became active members of Trinity Lutheran Church and formed lasting friendships.
Nancy’s work life spanned many fields—she worked as a beautician, a florist, and in retail sales at Alexander Lumber and Naturalizer Shoes. But more than anything, she was a people person. She had a gift for making friends wherever she went, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. She found joy in visiting with others, decorating, painting, and traveling. She dedicated time to volunteering at schools, church youth groups, and the Salvation Army.
For 18 winters, Nancy and Arlin made their home in Punta Gorda, Fla., at Live Oak RV Park, where they built a warm and welcoming community of friends.
Nancy earned an associate degree from Shasta College in Redding, Calif., and graduated high school from the Wasatch Academy in Utah, in 1961. Though she lived with a sleep disorder, she never let it define her. She remained a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a steadfast friend, always maintaining a cheerful spirit.
She is survived by her husband, Arlin; their sons Barry Leder of Owatonna, Howard Leder-Morrow of Los Angeles, and Patrick Leder of St. Paul; and two beloved grandchildren, Ollie and Sebastian.
Nancy’s kindness, warmth, and generosity touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Owatonna Foundation. For more information or to leave an online message of condolence, go to www.megercares.com.
