News Bulletin: Steele County crash kills Owatonna woman

The Steele County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a woman by Clinton Falls Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at the intersection of North Cedar Avenue and 50th Street around 11:23 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies found two vehicles had crashed with extensive damage.

One of the drivers had to be extricated before being airlifted to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester where she died.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, one vehicle was traveling westbound, and the other was southbound when they collided in the intersection.

The Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the State Patrol to reconstruct the crash, Sheriff Lon Thiele said.

Assisting at the scene were Owatonna Fire, Owatonna Police and Mayo Ambulance.
