The Owatonna Dance Team (ODT) hosted is seventh annual community show last weekend in front of a packed gym at Owatonna High School.

The day highlighted performances from the both the squad’s varsity and junior varsity kick and jazz teams, as well as its B-squad jazz routine.

Joining ODT in performing were multiple teams associated with local studios Just For Kix, Jill Hoggard Academy of Dance and Unlimited Possibilities Dance Studio.

The program kicked off by announcing the names of all ODT seniors in recognition of their final home performance.

Fans were then treated to ODT’s varsity jazz performance, which brought the entire gym to its feet.

Early highlights from the show also included the ODT Rising Stars camp performance, which showcased a routine performed by campers in kindergarten-fifth grade.

ODT team members coordinated the multi-group routine while assisting and encouraging campers to have fun and do their best.

The day was full of smiles and emotional performances, but tears were saved until the end when ODT recognized its senior athletes with reflection on their years as members of the squad.

With sections coming up on Saturday, Feb. 8, ODT will get at least one more opportunity to perform before hoping to earn a state tournament berth.

The section tournament will be hosted at Bloomington Kennedy High School.

Performances schedules were not made available at the time of print.
