Palmer Rohwer, 83, Owatonna

Palmer Lloyd Rohwer, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Birchwood Cottages in Owatonna, surrounded by family.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until the time of service. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
Palmer was born Oct. 2, 1941, in Dodge Center, to Fred and Alma (Baedke) Rohwer. Palmer graduated from Owatonna High School and then attended and graduated from Austin Vocational School in 1961.
He was united in marriage to Carol Ann Srsen on Feb. 23, 1963, at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna.
After graduating, he worked at Lindekugel Garage. Shortly after, he established Rohwer Body and Paint Shop, which he ran out of his home garage before moving his business to Front Street in Owatonna. He ran this business for over 60 years.
Palmer enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. He enjoyed family vacations to Hawaii Florida, South Dakota, and many fishing trips “Up North.” He was an avid collector of many things, enjoyed trips to casinos, and loved tootling around the countryside.
Palmer was a member of the Owatonna Scuba Diving Club; an activity he enjoyed with his sons. He was also a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Owatonna and a member of the Eagles Club.
Palmer is survived by sons Steve (Cindy) Rohwer, Owatonna, and Jim (Cheryl) Rohwer, Owatonna; grandchildren Brittni (Ryan) Ferch, Brandon Rohwer (Kendra Hartmann), Nicole Rohwer (Brandon Kassick), Brady Rohwer (Emma DeLange); and great-grandchildren Sydney and Landon Ferch.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol, his parents Fred and Alma; brothers Donald and Richard; sister-in-law Sharon; brother-in-law Dennis, sister-in-law Russell; father-in-law, Rudy, mother-in-law, Viola Srsen; and special friend Gladys Ericksen.
