Raymond Edward Mager, Jr., 62
Ray was born on November 23, 1962, to Raymond Sr. and Leona (Neisen) Mager.
He grew up in Le Center, MN, where he graduated from high school and then married Lisa Hruby and raised a family. He pursued his passion for woodworking and furniture repair by founding Mager Refinishing, which he operated for many years. He also attended Mankato Technical College and earned a degree in Electronics and went on to apply those skills at Owatonna Tool Company. His later life found him living in Minnesota Lake, MN, where he purchased a fixer-upper and spent his early retirement years making it his home.
A man of many talents, Ray had a knack for auto mechanics and home renovations,
earning him a reputation as a true jack-of-all-trades. He took great pride in his work and in passing that knowledge on to his children. Music was also a great love of his, so it was likely to be playing while he worked on his many projects. In quieter moments, he enjoyed watching game shows like Jeopardy and sci-fi classics such as Star Trek and Twilight Zone. Ray’s greatest joy came from his family.
He is survived by his children, Matthew Mager of Southern California, and Jennifer (Jake) Wagner of Le Sueur; his beloved grandchildren, Jace and Samantha Mager and Jeremiah, Jax, and Judson Wagner; and his siblings, Barb (Danny) Boisen, Diane Wells, David (Pat) Mager, Clarence (Deb) Mager, and Cheryl Doty. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 26, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church (165 N Waterville Ave, Le Center, MN) with a two-hour visitation in the fellowship hall prior to the service. A private burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Lexington, MN.
Ray will be remembered as a devoted father, brother, grandpa, and friend whose skills and kindness left a lasting impact on those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
