Just kidding!

Yes, there was an APB (All-points bulletin) issued for a missing television remote, 10 minutes before game time of the Super Bowl championship football game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Feb. 11.

The APB read like this:

MISSING: Small electronic device to turn on a Smart TV. It had appeared earlier at the Lestrud residence but was turned off to allow guests the opportunity to grab some snacks in the kitchen.

STILL MISSING: The 10 people attending a Super Bowl party began to become worried. They had been watching the game preview and were ready for the BIG GAME, which would start in 10 minutes.

We had our guests tearing apart (not that bad) couch cushions to uncover the missing remote.

“Let’s look in the fireplace, it might be there.” NOPE!

“Do you have another remote?” asked a Chiefs fan.

“I don’t think that will work,” I moaned. The TV suddenly began to work. “Yeah, we found the CBS channel carrying the game.”

“I bet it is in the magazine rack,” another guest said to another. NOPE!

“It’s in Howard’s office desk drawer.” It isn’t there either.

“Let’s take a break and get in the chow line,” I said. Everybody agreed.

As people waited in line in the kitchen, a guest was focusing on a hutch in the living room.

“Is that your remote?” A diligent guest spotted it on the hutch next to me.

Now, it’s time to use the remote that was in hiding. It also would be smart to put a leash on the TV remote.

That Super Bowl party was the best. See you in 2025.
