The 2024 edition of the Blooming Prairie High School boys basketball team resembles a runaway train derailing everything it meets.

Cameron Rutledge is the engineer (coach) on this team that hopes to pull into the railroad station in Rochester on Thursday, March 14 with eyes on another Section 1A championship. The Awesome Blossoms last won a Section 1A championship in 2020.

COVID-19 knocked the Awesome Blossoms and many outstanding teams off the track. The season was cancelled, and the Blossoms felt the screeching sounds.

The Blossoms have since established a strong offensive and defensive alignment that will put them on the track against a strong Goodhue team.

The Blossoms have not only put together a TEAM that will grease the rails and hopefully put the Goodhue team in the rail yards for good.

They have a secret weapon. THE FANS. A solid fan support has brought the Blossoms this far and hopefully will carry them into the Minnesota State High School League State Boys Basketball Tournament.

The excitement of the players, coaches and fans could return the Blossoms to the State Tournament for the first time since 1966.
