Roger Brent Butler, 66, McGregor

Roger Brent Butler of McGregor died Monday, Nov. 26, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.
He was born Oct. 23,1952 in Owatonna to Emil and Lorraine (Cain) Butler. He grew up on the family farm near West Concord andmoved to McGregor 49 years ago has resided there since. He was a graduate of McGregor High School.

He owned his own business, Butler Spraying Service, and was also a Millwright and member of Local 548. Besides his children and grandchildren, his greatest joy in life was being active in his work. He was an independentand bold man that enjoyed boating, bobcating, and building things.

Roger is survived by his partner, Kathi Bombarger, daughters Shaila (Grant) Moody of Mankato and Shirin Butler of Minnesota; brothers Perry of Palm Springs, Calif., Steve of Brooklyn Park, Dalen (Jolene) of Hill City, Dan (Tonya) of Aitkin, Randy (Sonia) of Brooklyn Park, Brian (Vicki) of Cedar. Sisters Mona (Donald) McMartin of Claremont, Lorraine (Paul) Mueller of Waldorf, Veletta (Todd) Gartner of Golden Valley, Rhonda (Richard) Egan of Brooklyn Park. Sisters-in-law Nancy DeSota Butler of Belchertown, Mass., and Wendy Butler Summers of Port Arthur, Texas; grandchildren Isaiah, Augustine, Julia and Malachi Moody; Gavin and Hannah Bancroft and their parents, Heather and Tyler. One aunt Bonnie Butler of Dodge Center; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Penny; brothers Loren and Rodney, and nephews Matthew and Willie Mueller.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018 at 1 p.m. from the McGregor Community Center with Rev. Erika Foss officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until the 1 p.m. service. A lunch will follow the service.
A committal service will be held Saturday, Dec.15 at 11 a.m. at the Concord Cemetery in West Concord with Pastor David Breederlon officiating. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion in West Concord.
