Roland H. Sprandel, age 84, passed away Nov. 3, 2024.

Friends may greet the family 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at Christ Community Covenant Church, 540 SE 18th St., Owatonna with Funeral Service starting at 11 a.m. Military Honors will be provided by the Steele County Funeral Unit.

Roland was born to parents Harold and June (May) Sprandel in Austin. He graduated from Lyle High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1963 and served honorably for four years.

When Roland came back to Owatonna, he did various jobs before becoming employed at Owatonna Tool Company for 10 years. He made a career working at General Equipment in Owatonna for 30 years. He married Lois Binstock in 1978 in Owatonna.

He was a life member of the American Legion, and Elks Lodge 1395 in Owatonna. Also, as a faithful follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, he was a member of Christ Community Covenant Church.

Roland and Lois loved to go fishing together, especially to Lake Michigan for salmon. They also enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. He loved books and was an avid reader.

Roland is survived by his wife, of 46 years, Lois; children, Mark (Lynne) Reul, and Pam Reul; granddaughters, Allison (Nick) Peake, and Maria (Paul) Brisson; great-grandchildren, Jax Peake, and Leah Brisson; and siblings, Lois (Greg) Beaver, and Terry Sprandel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Arthur Sprandel.
