Rollover crash leaves one dead

A one-vehicle crash Wednesday morning near Clinton Falls has left one person dead.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a pickup driven by a 25-year-old man from Owatonna was northbound on Interstate 35 when he apparently lost control. The vehicle left the road and rolled over in the east ditch.

Passengers in the truck included a 4-year-old girl and a baby boy, the report says.

It did not clarify which person was killed; names and conditions are expected to be released at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Road conditions were described as snow and ice covered after the first winter weather moved into the area overnight.

Also responding to the crash, which was reported about 7:40 a.m., were the Steele County Sheriff’s Office, Owatonna Police Department, Mayo Ambulance and Owatonna Fire Department.
