Ruth Klocke, 96, Hayfield

Ruth Frances Klocke, a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother, was born on Sept. 18, 1928, in Roselle, Iowa, to Jacob and Sophia (Roth) Hahn.
She grew up surrounded by faith and family, attending school in Roselle and helping on the farm.
On April 27, 1949, she married Harold John Klocke at Holy Angels Church. They began farming in Iowa before settling near Hayfield, Minnesota, where they continued farming and raised nine children together.
Ruth was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Parish and sang in the church choir. She had a green thumb and loved tending her garden and flowers. She enjoyed baking, playing 500, and sharing laughter with friends and family. Like Harold, she was an avid wrestling fan and rarely missed a match. In quieter moments, she played the organ, mowed her lawn, and delighted her grandchildren with her favorite treat—a vanilla ice cream cone.
Ruth is survived by her children, Beverly Staudinger of Eagan, Duane (Lois) Klocke of Hayfield, Dennis (Deb) Klocke of Hayfield, Robert (Jeanne) Klocke of Hayfield, Larry (Kari) Klocke of Hayfield, Allan Klocke of Hayfield, Kenneth Klocke of Kasson, Diane (Brad) Johnson of Burnsville, and Brian (Jodi) Klocke of Hayfield; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-laws, Linda Hahn and Dorothy Steinkamp; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Klocke; infant son, Joseph Klocke; son-in-law, Paul Staudinger; siblings, Norbert (Marie) Hahn, Joseph (Josephine) Hahn, Lawrence (Melvina) Hahn, Raymond Hahn, Bernice (Ray) Sporrer, and Louie Hahn as well as extended relatives.
The Klocke family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Field Crest Care Center, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mayo Clinic and Czaplewski Funeral Home.
