Susanne Neitzel, 79, Owatonna

Susanne Neitzel of Owatonna, died Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Owatonna Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2025, at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna, with a visitation from 1–2 p.m. Interment will follow services at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Susanne Marie Neitzel was born Aug. 30, 1945, in Owatonna to William and Agnes Spindler. She attended Marian High School and graduated with the class of 1963.

Susanne was united in marriage to Richard Neitzel on Nov. 4, 1978, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sargeant. The couple made their home in Mankato. She worked at the Mankato Hospital for 42 years, starting in the housekeeping department and then moving on to be an assistant for the physical therapy department.

Susanne enjoyed knitting, counted cross stitching, taking pictures, and collecting angel figurines. She especially liked playing card games with her friends at Realife Cooperative and loved trying out new recipes to bring to family functions.

Susanne is survived by brothers: Myron (Nancy) Spindler, Leo (Carol) Spindler, Dennis (Pam) Spindler, Bill (Doreen) Spindler; sister Therese (Doug Sheely) Manggaard; sisters-in-law Audrey Sorenson and Karen (Ralph) Zeise; and many nieces and nephews.

Susanne was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2017; her parents; brother-in-law Jim Manggaard and niece Angela Rose Spindler.
