William Edward Koss, 89, Dodge Center

William Edward Koss, 89, passed away at Fairview Care Center on Sunday evening March 3, 2019 in Dodge Center.  
The memorial service was held Thursday, March 7, 2019 at St. John Baptiste de la Salle Parish with Father Thomas Niehaus officiating.
William, the son of Albert and Anna (Spalik) Koss was born on April 30, 1929 in New Prague. In his early years, William and his family farmed in Montgomery and Claremont, before settling in Dodge Center.  
He resided on the family farm in Dodge Center and farmed for more than 70 years. William was united in marriage to Judith Jenkins on April 7, 1978, in Sioux Falls, S.D., and later renewed their vows at St. John Baptiste de la Salle Parish. Throughout their marriage, they enjoyed traveling and wintering in Texas.  
William was a member of St. John Baptiste de la Salle Parish in Dodge Center. He enjoyed farming, listening to Molly B, polka dancing, watching his grandchildren’s activities, attending church festivals, playing bingo and playing the concertina. William was funny, strong willed and a hardworking man that enjoyed tinkering and he was known amongst local farmers as a genius in fixing anything.
William is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Judith of Owatonna; children, Pam (Michael) Justice, Dodge Center; Albert (Rose) Koss, Kasson; Kathy (Mark) Haukoos, Black Earth, Wis; Patti Koss (Jim Hegge), Rochester; Jodi Benda, Oronoco; Lenny Koss, Champlin; step children, Jeff Jenkins, Owatonna; Brenda (Todd) Wilkinson, Owatonna; 15 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Esther (Victor) Fischer; brother, Donald (Cindy) Koss and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Thomas.
The family prefers memorials to St. John Baptiste de la Salle Parish, or donor’s choice.
