Yvonne Baker of Medford, MN, passed away peacefully at the Medford Care Center on Sunday, August 10, 2025, surrounded by family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church (205 2nd Ave NW, Medford). Friends may greet the family from 4:00-6:00 PM, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Medford Funeral Home (310 E Central Ave, Medford). A Parish Rosary will be recited at 3:45 PM. Visitation will continue at the Medford Funeral Home on Thursday at 9:30 AM, with a procession to the church at 10:20 AM. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Medford.
Yvonne Marie Baker was born January 8, 1928, in Silver Lake Township, Martin County, MN, to Stanley and Frances (Shumski) Korolewski. She graduated from East Chain High School in East Chain, MN, in 1946. On February 28, 1949, she married Bernard Baker at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Chain. The Bakers moved to Medford in December of 1961.
Yvonne was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where she belonged to the Mission Quilting Group and served as a communion minister. She enjoyed playing cards, watching the Twins and Timberwolves, attending her grandchildren's sporting events, yearly vacations up North, and spending time with family at numerous family gatherings.
Yvonne is survived by her children: Kathy (Ed) Schoenecker, Bloomington, MN, Michael Baker, St. Cloud, MN, Marilynn (Kevin) Schwab, Minneapolis, MN, Jan (Mike) Becker, Tega Cay, SC, Don Baker, Faribault, MN, Daryl (Carol) Baker, Owatonna, MN, Duane (Margie) Baker, O’Fallon, IL, Kristi (Mike) VonRuden, Northfield, MN; son-in-law Alan Maas, Hudson, WI; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and sister Eleanor Sherry, Hutchinson, MN.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bernard in 1998; brother Percy Korolewski; and daughter Lynette Maas in 2014.
