Adela Ochoa-Dominquez, 87, Blooming Prairie
Adela Ochoa-Dominguez, 87 of Blooming Prairie, died peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, June 17, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Bricelyn, Minn.
She was surrounded by her loving family.
Adela was born Oct. 20, 1927 in Goliad, Texas to Facundo and Florentina (Garcia) Ochoa. She grew up near San Antonio before her marriage to Juan Dominguez, Sr. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Geneva.
Juan Sr. passed away in February 1997. She enjoyed reading Spanish novels, sewing, cooking and watching novellas on the Spanish TV station. Adela loved being a homemaker and raising her family of six. She also raised seven of her grandchildren.
Adela is survived by her six children; Guadalupe Garcia of Dinuba, Calif., Guillermo (Memo) Dominguez of Blooming Prairie, Maria (Regino) Ortega of Dodge Center, Delfa (Jose Angel) Padilla of Austin, Adela Deluna of Bricelyn, Gloria (Robert) Salinas of Blooming Prairie, and her five siblings, 31 grandchildren and 78 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Facundo and Florentina Ochoa, her husband Juan Dominguez Sr., son Juan Dominguez Jr., granddaughter Marlena Grant.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015 at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie with the Rev. Steve Peterson officiating.
Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. A Rosary Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at the beginning of the visitation. Interment will be in the Blooming Prairie Cemetery.
