Independent School District #756, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, was held in the High School Commons on Monday October 16, 2023, at
7:15 p.m.

Motion by Melissa Stoen and seconded by Jenny Thurnau to approve items in the consent agenda as presented. Motion carried. (7 Aye/0 Nay)
B.Employment
Motion by Jon Sunde and seconded by Crystal Studer to approve the employment of John Bruns as a junior high boys’ basketball coach. Placement will be at Step 5 of the extracurricular schedule plus longevity pay. Motion carried. (7 Aye/0 Nay)
C. Volunteer Coaches
None at this time.
D. Fixed Asset Policy
Motion by Jon Sunde and seconded by Jenny Thurnau to approve increasing the fixed asset capitalization threshold from $2,500 to $5,000. A $5,000 threshold is the most standard amount
and common for school districts. Raising the threshold will alleviate a substantial amount of
unnecessary
recordkeeping. Motion carried. (7 Aye/0 Nay)
E. Policies
Motion by Jenny Thurnau and seconded by Melissa Stoen to approve the updates made to the Wellness & Student Discipline policies. Motion carried. (7 Aye/0 Nay)
F. MSHSL Form A & B
Motion by Kelly Braaten and seconded by Jenny Thurnau to approve MSHSL Form A & B. Motion carried. (7 Aye/0 Nay)

VII. ITEMS OF
INFORMATION AND/OR DISCUSSION ONLY
A. Earned Sick & Safe Time (ESST) Law
ESST law will take effect on 1/1/24. To qualify you must work at least 80 hours in one year.
B. Facility Use Policy
Continuing education to various groups on this.
C. District Audit
The audit will be presented at the November meeting.
D. Building Project Financial Report
The school district
continues to stay on budget.
E. Committee Reports
A committee report was given for the following committees: Building and Grounds/Facilities, Education Foundation, Negotiations, Staff
Development, & Wellness.

Enrollment for the
2023-24 school year
per JMC as of
October 9, 2023 was 327 at the elementary school (grades K-4) and 531 at the intermediate/high school (grades 5-12) with approximately 13 PSEO students.

November 16, 2023 at 6:00 a.m. in the High School Board Room.
