Independent School District #756, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, was held in the High School Media Center on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 
7:15 p.m.

Motion by Melissa Stoen and seconded by Kelly Braaten to approve Kylie Forystek as the head boys and girls track coach. Placement will be at Step 0 of the 
extracurricular schedule.

Meeting Dates
Motion by Kelly Braaten and seconded by Jenny Thurnau to approve the school board meeting dates. The meeting time for the regular meetings will remain at 7:15 p.m. with the open forum at 7:00 p.m. with the 
exceptions noted below. Motion carried.

E. School Board Work Sessions
Motion by Melissa Stoen and seconded by Dean Meshke to approve the continuation of the school board work session dates to be the Thursday before the regular board meeting at 6:00 a.m. Motion

F. School Board Per Diem
Motion by Kelly Braaten and seconded by Jenny Thurnau to approve the continuation of the per diem amount for work sessions and regular meetings to be $100 each and to increase the per diem amount for 
committee meetings to $80 and all-day meetings to $160.

G. Superintendent Contract
Motion by Melissa Stoen and seconded by Crystal Studer to approve the proposed changes to the superintendent contract. Motion carried.

H. Public Hearing on Property Tax Levy 
Payable 2025 
Motion by Jenny Thurnau and seconded by Melissa Stoen to approve the 6:00 pm. Public Hearing on Property Tax Levy Payable 2025 during the regular December school board meeting. Motion carried. (6 Aye/0 Nay)
I. Health & Safety Policy
Motion by Crystal Studer and seconded by Dean Meshke to approve the Health & Safety Policy as unchanged. Motion carried. (6 Aye/0 Nay)
J. LTFM Plan
Motion by Rodney Krell and seconded by Jenny Thurnau to approve the LTFM ten-year plan.

A. Family Education Rights and Privacy Act
The following 
information will be 
published in the local paper for two 
consecutive weeks.
Independent School District #756, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, in compliance with the 
Family Education Rights and Privacy Act 
announces that 
directory-type information on public school students in the district will be disseminated from time to time without further 
authorization from parents of such students.
Directory-type information under this policy is defined as:
1. The student’s name
2. The names of the 
student’s parents
3. The student’s address
4. The student’s date of birth
5. The student’s class designation (i.e. 1st grade, 10th grade, etc.)
6. The student’s 
extracurricular 
participation
7. The student’s 
achievement awards or honors
8. The student’s weight and height if a member of an athletic team
9. The student’s 
photograph or videotape of the student
10. The school or school district the student 
attended before he or she enrolled in Independent School District #756
Any parent wishing to withhold such information from distribution must make the request to the Office of the

B. Building Project Financial Report 
Punch list items are being worked on. Financially we are in a good position as we come to the end of the project.
C..Committee Reports
A committee report was given for the following committees: Negotiations. D. Enrollment Data
Enrollment for the 2023-24 school year per JMC as of May 31, 2024 was 331 at the elementary school (grades K-4) and 518 at the intermediate/high school (grades 5-12) with approximately 13 PSEO students.

July 15 School Board Meeting at 7:00 p.m.
August 11 Strategic

VIII. SUPERINTENDENT OR BOARD MEMBER ITEMS
-The elevator is being worked on at the 
elementary and we are finalizing some auditorium pieces.
-A thank you card was shared from Ann 
Stephenson.
-School tours on July 3rd went well, 75-100 people attended.
-Chelsea Pettitt will be helping with Community Ed as well as Ms. Mach & Mr. Staloch.
-Redo surfacing of 
elementary parking lot

Motion by Dean Meshke and seconded by Melissa Stoen to adjourn the meeting at 7:33 p.m.

August 15, 2024 at 6:00 a.m. in the High School Board Room.

Tentatively, the next Regular School Board Meeting will be Monday, August 19, 2024 at
7:15 p.m. in the High School Media Center. (Open Forum begins at 7:00 p.m.).

A complete copy of the official minutes may be found in their entirety in the official minute
book located in the superintendent’s office at the high school; 
however, they will not beavailable until approved by the School Board.
