Independent School District #756, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, was held in the High School Media Center on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 7:15 p.m.

Motion by Crystal Studer and seconded by Dean Meshke to approve 
Sienna Fyksen as an elementary 
paraprofessional. 
Placement will be at Step 1 of the paraprofessional schedule.

Motion by Dean Meshke and seconded by Melissa Stoen to approve Robert Johnson as a high school paraprofessional. Placement will be at Step 1 of the paraprofessional schedule.

Motion by Jenny Thurnau and seconded by Kelly Braaten to approve 
Madison DenHerder as the musical sound and lights coordinator. Pay would be $1,500.00 to attend musical practices and help with

C. Volunteer Coaches
Motion by Kelly Braaten and seconded by Crystal Studer to approve Seth Peterson as a volunteer varsity football coach. Motion carried.

Motion by Jenny Thurnau and seconded by Melissa Stoen to approve the updates to the attached handbooks and policies. Motion carried.

Motion by Kelly Braaten and seconded by Dean Meshke to approve the “maximum” amount for the proposed levy 
limitation and 
certification 2024 payable 2025. Motion carried.

Motion by Melissa Stoen and seconded by Crystal Studer to approve the property and casualty 
insurance/workers compensation insurance renewal from Jensen Agency.

Motion by Kelly Braaten and seconded by Jenny Thurnau to approve the resolution relating to the election of school board members and calling the school district election.

A. Building Project Financial Report
There is a POC meeting on October 4 to work through the change orders. There is a current positive fund balance and we are continuing to work through the punch list items.
B. Committee Reports
A committee report was given for the following committees: Education Foundation & 
Negotiations.
C. Enrollment Data
Enrollment for the 2024-25 school year per JMC as of September 11, 2024, was 327 at the elementary school (grades K-4) and 528 at the intermediate/high school (grades 5-12) with approximately 12 PSEO students.

VIII. SUPERINTENDENT OR BOARD MEMBER ITEMS
-Enrollment data is similar to last year’s. We offer 31 college credits in house. 42 juniors and seniors enrolled in those, and we work with Southwest MN State University.
-Tour to class of ’74. It was a fantastic group of almost 60 people.
-Worked with city officials about the water tower coming down tomorrow.

Motion by Dean Meshke and seconded by Jenny Thurnau to adjourn the meeting at 7:44 p.m.

Tentatively, the next Regular School Board Work Session will be held on Thursday,
October 17, 2024 at 6:00 a.m. in the High School Board Room.

Tentatively, the next Regular School Board Meeting will be Monday, October 21, 2024 at
7:15 p.m. in the High School Media Center. (Open Forum begins at 7:00 p.m.).

A complete copy of the official minutes may be found in their entirety in the official minute
book located in the superintendent’s office at the high school; 
however, they will not be
available until approved by the School Board.
