BREAKING NEWS: Fugitive Lois Riess arrested in Texas

The U.S. Marshal's Office announced late Thursday night, April 19, that fugitive Lois Riess of Blooming Prairie has been caught.
 
She was apprehended on South Padre Island, Texas.
 
More details will be available on Friday from the Dodge County Sheriff's Department.
 
She has been on the run since she allegedly murdered her husband David Riess in his home on March 21. His body was found by the Blooming Prairie Police Department on March 23 at his home.
 
A manhunt ensued on March 25 with Dodge County Sheriff's authorities leading the investigation. Dodge County bank contacted the police about alleged fraudulent transactions by Lois Riess with David's business and personal accounts.
 
David Riess was allegedly shot multiple times.
 
Lois Riess was spotted at the Diamond Jo's Casino in Northwood, Iowa in late March.
 
Riess then headed to Florida where she was accused of shooting Pamela Hutchinson of Bradenton, Florida. Hutchinson was found dead in a condominium in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
 
Lee County Florida authorities announced murder, grand theft auto and grand theft of criminal use of personal identification charges against Lois Riess on April 13.
 
It was reported on April 13 that Riess was heading through the Gulf States and toward the Corpus Christi, Texas area.
 
Authorities released video from Florida and from Diamond Jo's  Casino. A reward of $5,000 was offered by the U.S. Marshal's Office.
 
Electronic billboards messaged the search for Riess in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and California.
