BREAKING NEWS: Highway 14 funding finally passes
Lead Summary

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton today signed the legislature’s bonding bill, which has full funding for U.S. Highway 14 between Dodge Center and Owatonna. The highway expansion finally became reality 25 years after the first Environmental Impact Study was completed in 1993.
“At long, long, long last, the Highway 14 expansion is officially fully funded,” said Senator John Jasinski, R-Faribault.
Added Senator Dave Senjem, R-Rochester: “It’s a good day for Southern Minnesota and transportation.”
Bids are expected to be let out next March with construction possibly beginning later in 2019, Senjem said.
