Brian Busch, 73, Claremont
Brian Duane Busch, 73, of Claremont, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
Brian was born in Blue Earth, on Nov. 21, 1952, to Aldon and Beverly (Severtson) Busch. His family moved several times as his father farmed in Rake, Iowa, Elkton, Minn., and Ledyard, Iowa. In 1966, the family moved to Claremont when his father took a job as the butter maker at the Claremont creamery. Brian started washing cans at the creamery when he was 14. He graduated from Claremont High School in 1970.
He was married to DiAnn Quaale that same year in Sioux Falls. They had five daughters before divorcing in 1987. Brian married Ginny (Clark) in 1991, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Brian worked construction all his adult life, with A & P, I & R (Ray Kubat), Sahf and then in 1976, he and his bother Craig started Busch Brothers Construction and worked together for the next 33 years. He tested his entrepreneurial skills by purchasing Slick Willy’s Bar in Hollandale MN, which was every cement heads dream! This dream lasted a whole two years. Brian retired in 2009, due to health reasons.
He enjoyed fishing and most of all going to his grandchildren’s football, basketball, baseball and volleyball games. He gave up on the Minnesota Vikings! He was also known for his BS story telling.
Brian is survived by his wife, Ginny; daughters, Tisa (Todd) Koenigs of Claremont, Teri Busch of Dodge Center, Kayce (Justin) Munnikhuysen of Claremont, Linsey Busch of Dodge Center, Heidi Busch of Dodge Center, son Tanner Busch of West Concord and Shannon (Mitch) Martin of New Richland; grandchildren, Chace Sackett, Corbin (Bobbylee) Busch, Cailee (Tyler) Harazin, Turner Koenigs, Anthonee Busch, Braxton Munnikhuysen, Boe Munnikhuysen, Mariah (Jayce) Busch, Carson Koenigs, Brody Munnikhuysen, Garet Jensen, Jaxon Jensen, Stella Busch, Dempsey (Cynthia) Tucker, Cassidy Martin and Rhys Martin; great grandchildren, Izekiel, Colby, Brynlee, Skylar, Weston, Ila, and Graham; sisters, Sharri Laue and Sheryl (Mike) Johnson both of Dodge Center.
He was preceded in death by his parent; bother, Craig and two grandchildren, Broc and Mathew Jensen.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Church, 308 2nd St. NW in Dodge Center, with Pastor Rich McLeer officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 25 South St SW in Dodge Center, and one hour prior to his service at the church. Interment will be in the St Francis De Sales Cemetery in Claremont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St Frances De Sales Cemetery in Claremont.
