Carl Miller, 83, Owatonna, obituary

Carl Miller, of Owatonna, passed away on Oct. 11, 2025, at his home in Cannon Falls.

He was born on Dec. 17, 1941, in Owatonna, the son of Albert Miller and Emma (Arndt) Miller. Carl attended Owatonna High School and graduated in 1961. Later in life he pursued further education at Austin Junior College.

Throughout his career, Carl worked at Owatonna Tool Company for 22 years, where he was known for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. He then became a business partner at Valley Hydraulics, where he continued to contribute his expertise and leadership for 20 more years. He also worked part-time as a special deputy for Steele County.

Carl enjoyed many hobbies such as, trapshooting, woodworking, caring for animals and nature, as well as spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, compassion, creativity, and his loving tradition of giving his wife a rose each week for 55 years.

He is survived by his spouse Virginia Miller; children, Adam (Carole) Miller and Carla Miller; grandchildren, Sarah (Tyler) Burg, Emily Miller and his sister-in-law Deb Miller. He was preceded in death by parents Albert and Emma Miller, and his brother William (Bill) Miller.

Private Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Clinton Falls, Minn.
