Carol Diedrich, 90, formerly of Owatonna
Carol Diedrich, 90, of Frisco, Texas, formerly of Owatonna, Minnesota, died Feb. 28, 2026.
Carol was born Oct. 15, 1935, to Wilfred and Irene (Ringhofer) Grubish in Owatonna, where she grew up and graduated from Owatonna High School.
She married her high school sweetheart, Ronald “Ron” Diedrich, on Sept. 14, 1957, in Owatonna. He preceded her in death in 2012. Together they raised three children.
Carol was active for many years in the Owatonna Women’s Club and the Owatonna Youth Hockey League. A devoted supporter of local athletics, she continued cheering on Owatonna teams long after her children had graduated from high school. She took great pride in her home, tending beautiful flower beds and expressing her creativity in countless ways. A gifted seamstress, Carol could make outfits without a pattern, and she knitted and crocheted many quilts for family and friends. An avid reader, she began each morning with the Owatonna People’s Press, reading it cover to cover. She also had a remarkable knack for remembering birthdays and was known for making the best popcorn balls at Christmas time.
She is survived by her children: Mike Diedrich and his wife, Collette, of Frisco, Texas, and their children, Jill (Mike) Emens and Jordan (Caroline) Diedrich; Sara Diedrich and her children Matthew Agnew and Mary Clare Agnew, all of Columbia, Missouri; and Tom Diedrich and his wife, Kendra Rogers, of Frisco, Texas, and their children Kendall (Shelby) Maddie of Farmers Branch, Texas, Macey Diedrich (fiancé Benjamin Fierro) of Nashville, Tennessee, Logan Diedrich of Frisco, Texas, and Cole Rogers and Karsyn Rogers, both of Frisco, Texas. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Avery Emens, 19, Giselle Williams-Agnew, 13; Brennley Emens, 8; and Leo Emens, 5; and her sister, Jane (George) Slicho of Rochester, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Wayne Grubish and Dennis Grubish.
