Cindy Lou Howe 4/9/1955–9/23/25

Cindy, a woman who lived her life with a fierce love for her family and a smile for everyone she met, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, in Mankato. She was 70 years old.

Born on April 9, 1955, Cindy spent the majority of her life in Circle Pines, before settling in Owatonna. She retired in 2022 from Napa Distribution in Owatonna.

To know Cindy was to love her, though she was sure to keep you on your toes with her sassy and fun-loving spirit. She was the kind of person who was always there to help anyone, anytime, a true testament to her generous heart. Above all, Cindy loved her family fiercely – a love that only grew with each new generation.

Cindy had a soft spot for the “little things” in life, which was evident in her joyful collection of all things small. Including her most cherished companion, her “best friend” was her beloved Shih Tzu, Remmy, who was never far from her side.

Cindy’s bright light and endless love will be profoundly missed by her loving children: daughter Bridgett Gienger and son Bradley Gienger. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Jordan (Javon) Berry, and her amazing grandson Jonas Gienger; and her three great-grandsons, Jayce, Justice, and Jonah.

She is also survived by her siblings, Kimmy (Pat) Lange, Jaye (Bruce) Adams, Todd (Ronda) Howe, and Doug (Tori) Howe, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Jayde Berry; her father Leland, and stepmother Myrna Howe; her grandparents Ned and Everelle Howe; and her siblings Terry Howe and Lori Mauer.

A Celebration of Life is being planned. The family will update friends and relatives with the date, time, and location once the arrangements are finalized.
