David Albert Andreen, 79, Kasson

David Albert Andreen, 79, of Kasson, passed away peacefully at the Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, Methodist Campus on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. 
He was born on Aug. 25, 1937 at home near New London, Minnesota to Andrew and Anna (Jensen) Andreen. After graduating from New London High School he served in the National Guard for eight years. He married Charlotte (Peterson) on Nov. 2, 1958. Following their marriage, his career in the feed and grain business took them to Plainview, Minnesota where they resided until 1966 when they moved to the Kasson-Mantorville area. He continued working in the feed and grain business and went on to work for the Mayo Clinic for 11 ½ years. His family was his pride and joy. He was very passionate about his church where he had served on the council, ushered, and where he and Charlotte visited numerous shut-ins. He also volunteered at the food shelf. He was known for his sense of humor and always having a joke to tell.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte; children: Lynda (Randy) Oswald of Farmington, Lyle (Deb) Andreen of Mazeppa, Lori (Roger) Carlsen of Mantorville, Layne (Laurie Cavagnaro) Andreen of Napa, California, and Lisa (Scott) Boyum of Byron; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Clifford of Wilmar, Ron (Ione) of Willmar, Paul (Carol) of Spicer, Florence of St. Paul, and Oscar of Fairfield, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Don (twin brother), Pete, Ludwig, Jim, Adeline, and Evelyn.
The funeral at St. John’s Lutheran Church was  held Monday, March 6th with Pastor Nirmala Reinschmidt officiating.
