Deanna Weiss, 77, Blooming Prairie

Deanna R. Weiss, age 77, of Blooming Prairie, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System Austin.

Deanna Rae Crousore, the daughter of Chris and Oma (King) Crousore, was born Aug. 28, 1945, in Austin. She spent her childhood years in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1963.

Deanna was united in marriage to Andrew “Andy” Weiss on Aug. 3, 1963, at the First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. The couple was blessed with two sons.

Deanna worked as a bookkeeper for Central Coop, then bartended at the Blooming Prairie Municipal Liquor Store and Geneva Liquor. She also worked for Prairie Blossom Tours.

Deanna was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing bingo, and traveling, especially Shriners trips. Deanna also looked forward to wintering in Mesa, Ariz. every year since 2010. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew Weiss of Blooming Prairie; son, Brian (Leanne) Weiss of Hobart, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Melissa (Mike) Trihus of Blooming Prairie; and six grandchildren, Kathryn, Nicole “Hansel,” Emily, Micalyn, Megan, and Kennedy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Oma Crousore; son, Bruce Weiss in 1997; and sister, Scharlene Crousore.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. A private family interment will be in Blooming Prairie City Cemetery.
