Delores Kubicek, 85, Owatonna

Delores Kubicek died unexpectedly at her home in Owatonna, on Nov. 11, 2025.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna. Friends may greet the family from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the funeral service.

Delores was born Aug. 16, 1940. She graduated from Owatonna High School.

She married Paul Kubicek on Aug. 13, 1960, in Owatonna.

In her younger days, she loved traveling the world with her daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren. After retirement from the Owatonna Clinic, she loved having coffee at the Kernel with her friends.

Her latest joy was visiting with her two great-grandsons, Hudson 2.3 years and Levi 4 months. Delores also loved watching the Minnesota Twins, the Minnesota Vikings and the Kansas City Chiefs because as a Vikings fan you need another team to root for. Between all the games, she and Paul would go for daily drives, rarely letting her car cool down.

Delores will always be remembered for her kind heart, her compassionate nature, and the love she shared with all who knew her.

Delores is survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul, her daughter Kim (Gary) Gengel of Naples, Fla.; granddaughters Natalie (Christopher) Caruso of Pipersville, Pa., Nicolette (Ryan) Hilliard of Savage; grandson Gerhard (Kristie) Gengel of Williston Park, N.Y.; two great-grandsons Hudson and Levi Hilliard; brothers Orlo Krause and Loren Krause; and sisters Marie Radel, Ione (Dale) Sette, and Loreene (Greg) Caswell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Florence Krause, sister Shirley Deming, brother-in-law, Darrel Radel, and sisters-in-law, Karen Krause and Bev Krause.
