Dick Radtke, 84, Owatonna
Richard "Dick" Walter Radtke, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, in Owatonna.
Dick was born on Sept. 10, 1941, in Faribault, to Vernon and Selma (Wegner) Radtke. Dick grew up on a farm where he learned the value of hard work, strong family values, and a passion for the great outdoors.
Dick's early education took place at Peace Lutheran Parochial School, and he graduated from Faribault High School in 1959. He joined the Army National Guard, where he served with honor from 1959 to 1967. Dick's career included work at Jostens, Ron Johnson Steel Engraving, and Cybex. In retirement, Dick mowed for the City of Owatonna Parks Department.
Dick was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Owatonna, the American Legion Post 0077 and the Owatonna Eagles Club Aerie 1791.
Dick was married to Theresa Hartman on Dec. 26, 1959, and they were later divorced. They raised three children, Rick, Susan and Denise.
On Nov. 21, 1981, he married Vickie VanVoorst. Four additional children, Tammy, Tracy, Shelley and Chad created a blended family.
In Dick's early adult life, he enjoyed family vacations to Colorado. He also enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, snowmobile outings, bowling tournaments, camping and hunting. He spent a lot of years enjoying his cabin at Clark's resort, where they went pontooning, golf cart cruising and spent time with friends and family. All his life, he enjoyed dancing and playing cards. He was always the first person to start the dance party at family gatherings.
Dick is survived by his wife, Vickie; children and step-children: Rick A. Radtke (Bev) of Owatonna, Susan T. Radtke (Dave Fair) of Watertown, WI, Denise M. Ramage (Jim Kling) of Watertown, Wis., Tammy Grainger (Kurt) of Lino Lakes, Tracy Halleck (Matthew) of Rochester, Shelley Renee (Shane Conaty) of Cape Coral, Fla., and Chad Van Voorst of Cape Coral, Fla.; grandchildren: Zach Radtke (Sadie), Ryan Ramage, Hannah Treptow (Cody), Rachel Ramage, Jack Treptow (Cait), Britain Olson (Jake), Keegan Warsito, London Warsito, Cece Halleck, and Lexi Halleck, as well as five great-grandchildren: Blake, Aviana, Maverick, Alexis and Willow; sister, Norma Marble (Ralph) of Wills Point, TX and brother, Arthur Radtke (Barbara) of Highlands Ranch, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Dick was predeceased by his parents, Vernon and Selma Radtke; sister and brother-in-law, Arlys and Ray Piller; a brother, David, in infancy; son-in-law, James Ramage; nephews, Michael and Steven Truman; and sister-in-law, Cindi Hinton.
Friends may greet the family Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna. Visitation will continue Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1909 Saint Paul Road, Owatonna. Pastor Mike Walerius will officiate the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m.
