Donald Ringhofer, 85, Owatonna

Donald Bernard Ringhofer of Owatonna, passed away at home at the age of 85 on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1938, in Somerset Township to Clarence and Irene (Horak) Ringhofer. He attended Country School 87 in Somerset Township until eighth grade. Don worked construction for Jacobson and Casey from 1957 to 1996. Don often did various carpentry projects for his family throughout the years.

On Aug. 8, 1959, he married Jacquelyn Hintz at St. John Lutheran Church. They had two children, Staci and Kelli. Don enjoyed snowmobiling, participating in tractor runs, going to auctions, riding his scooter and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don was an active member and volunteer at St. John Lutheran Church and delivered Meals on Wheels.

Don is survived by his wife of 64 years; two daughters, Staci Utoft and Kelli Ringhofer; four grandchildren, Dillin Schultz, Bowen (Samantha) Schultz, Torrin Smith, Kelly Nelson; two great-granddaughters, Peyton Kay Schultz and Andi Lyn Schultz; one sister, Barbara (Edward) Beaupre; two brothers, Duane (Jina) Ringhofer and Dennis (Bec Sletten) Ringhofer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gary Ringhofer and his sons-in-law Mark Smith and Christopher Utoft.

Friends may greet the family from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023, at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna with Rev. Dave Klawiter presiding.
