Doralene Bakke, 92, Blooming Prairie

Doralene Deloris Bakke, age 92, of Blooming Prairie, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie.

Doralene Deloris Bakke was born July 10, 1931, in Albert Lea, to Otto and Vera Anderson. Doralene graduated from Blooming Prairie High School.

Doralene was united into marriage to Donald Bakke at the Community Lutheran Church in Geneva. The couple was blessed with 67 years of marriage and together had five children. She was a lifelong resident of Blooming Prairie and worked for the Blooming Prairie High School lunch program.

Doralene was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, listening to music (Tom Jones especially), spending time with her family and her dog, (Baxter B), and cat, (Pumpkin), and her passion for doll collecting. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Doralene is survived by her sons, David Bakke of Rochester, Donald R Bakke of Blooming Prairie; daughter, Diana (Mark) Kubat of Owatonna; eight grandchildren, Jackie Bakke of Jacksonville, Fla., Eric Bakke, Broken Arrow, Okla., Leif Bakke, Broken Arrow, Alexis Saufferer, Owatonna, Mason Saufferer, Owatonna, Reagan Saufferer, Owatonna, Brandon Saufferer, Owatonna, and Michael Saufferer, Owatonna; many great grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Peterson, Blooming Prairie, Luella (Darrell) Jensen, Faribault, and Linda Pavek, Faribault.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Vera Anderson; husband, Donald Bakke; sons, Daniel Bakke and Darwin Bakke; and brothers-in-law, Harris Peterson and Greg Pavek.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Blooming Prairie City Cemetery. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie is assisting the family with arrangements.
