Dorean Mucha, 86, Owatonna

Dorean Elsie Mucha, 86, of Owatonna, died on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Benedictine Living Community.

Dorean was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Rosemount, the daughter of George and Elsie (Schmidthuber) Schindeldecker. She was a graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield.

Dorean was united in marriage to Andrew J. Mucha on Aug. 10, 1963, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Northfield. Following their marriage, they moved near Ellendale.

Dorean taught high school U.S. History in Albert Lea for a few years. She later was company president and did accounting for Andy’s electrical contractor business, M&M Electric.

Dorean was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church in Ellendale. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and camping with Andy.

Dorean is survived by her children, Randy Mucha of Owatonna, Deb (Ken) Hensel of Springfield, Va., and Daniel (Sandra) Mucha of Richardson, Texas; grandson, Andrew Mucha; and sister, Marlys Schindeldecker of Savage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy in 2021, and a sister, Alice Schindeldecker.

Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2026, at First Lutheran Church – Ellendale, with Pastor Ross Sletten officiating. Visitation will be 12 to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are with Michaelson Funeral Home of Owatonna.
