Duane Hobert, 88, Owatonna

Duane (Dewey) Julius Hobert of Owatonna died Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

Duane was born to Johanna Hobert on Nov. 13, 1935, in Claremont.

He was drafted by the U.S. Army in 1958. He spent two years of service in Germany and later remained a part of the National Army Reserve.

Dewey worked at Farm & Home and then at the Owatonna Eagles from 1978–2000. He was a member of the Eagles, Legion, and VFW.

Dewey enjoyed boating, fishing, and racing. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings Fan! He won two Viking raffles at the VFW in the last weeks of his life!!

He is survived by his one daughter, Tanya Hobert (Sandy and son Nate).
