Edmond Jansen, 64, Owatonna
Edmond “Ed” H. Jansen passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 7, 2026.
Ed was born on Dec. 10, 1961, in Owatonna, to Jan C. Jansen and Adriana J. Jansen. He grew up in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1979, proudly identifying as an Owatonna Indian throughout his life.
Following graduation, Ed worked as a machinist for several companies in the Owatonna area. He dedicated much of his career to Wenger Corporation, where he was known for his hard work and craftsmanship.
Those who knew Ed knew of his passion for sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings, and his lifelong love of music, particularly The Beatles. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, riding his bike around town, and sharing time with friends and loved ones. His easygoing nature and genuine kindness made him a friend to many.
Ed is survived by his sisters, Maria Vrijenhoek-Jansen (Pete Jansen) of Owatonna and Jeanette “Farmer” Hinkle of Owatonna; his nephew, Jan C. (Kalli) Hinkle of Medford; his niece, Nickole Hinkle of Burnsville; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jan C. Jansen; his mother, Adriana J. Jansen; and his sister, Ann Jensen.
To all who knew Ed, he was a genuinely kind-hearted soul. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced when they become available.
