Fatality in Steele County

  
James A. Weinhold, 61, Elk River, Minnesota, was killed as a result of an early morning accident on icy roads in Steele County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Weinhold was driving a Ford Super Duty pickup truck southbound on Interstate 35 at Milepost 26 marker, when the truck lost control on icy roads, entered the west ditch and rolled.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:39 a.m. According to reports, Weinhold died at approximately 6 a.m. He was wearing his seat belt and there was no alcohol detected in his system.
Steele County Sheriff Office, Ellendale Fire and Ambulance and Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted with the incident.
