Francis LaVerne Schnorenberg, age 86, of Kasson/Mantorville, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at Oak Terrace in North Mankato.
 
Francis was born Feb. 8, 1932 in Rose Creek, to Edward and Anna (Dunleavy) Schnorenberg. He graduated from Rose Creek High School and served two years in the U.S. Army.  
 
Francis joined IBM Rochester in 1956, where he met Mary M. Van Den Hemel. They were married on Nov. 26, 1960 and lived in Rochester, Kasson, Hayfield and Mantorville.
 
Francis worked at IBM Rochester for 35 years, then retired and worked for Hayfield Window Company for several years.
 
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, IBM Retirees Club, IBM Quarter Century Club, American Legion lifetime member, 4-H MN Adult Volunteers Association, lifetime member, and a Director on the Board of Fairview Cemetery of Hayfield, Inc.
 
Survivors include: wife, Mary; sons, Roger, of Olivehurst, Calif., and Gary (Sandi) of Mankato; daughters, Lori Hartley (Mike) of Buffalo, and Lisa Christenson (Jon) of Kasson; sisters, Dorothy Schultz of Austin, and Maryanne Van Den Hemel of Owatonna; brother-in-law George Van Den Hemel of Ozark, Ark.; and eight grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bernard (Betty) and Jerry (Ellen), sister Lillian (Rudy), and brother-in-laws Leonard and Leo Van Den Hemel.
Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities.
 
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Kasson, with Father John Lasuba officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery Hayfield, with military honors by the American Legion.
