Fredwyn Luedtke, 76, Owatonna
Fredwyn Joseph Luedtke, age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at Benedictine Living Community.
“I’m Dead,” if you know Fred’s raspy voice and demeanor, that’s exactly what he would tell you.
Born on Dec. 21, 1947, the first son and child of nine children of Darwin and Patricia (Dierkhissing) Luedtke. He grew up in Waite Park and after graduating high school he attended and graduated from Dunwoody Institute as a welder. It turned out welding wasn’t for him so stepped in a truck and never stopped driving. He hauled gas, beer, Pepsi and even tried his hand a owning an RPS (Roadway) delivery truck.
Life took a turn for Fred and he decided the metro wasn’t for him so he moved to southern Minnesota to pursue new opportunities. He worked at McNeilus Truck, Viratec and before retirement, at Dagry Tooling Inc.
Fred is survived by his children Janette, Shaun, Katie and Jeremy; siblings, Darwin, Bob, Chuck, Luie, Cheryl, Dave Darlene and Gary. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A service will be held at a later date for family and friends.
