Gerald Morgan, 84, Windom
Gerald "Jerry" Morgan, 84, formerly of Deerfield Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Windom Area Health, in Windom, Minn., surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born on July 3, 1941, in La Crosse, Wis. He attended school through the 8th grade before beginning work.
Jerry devoted his life to being a trucker, driving over-the -road for many years delivering produce. He continued behind the wheel until the age of 75—a testament to his dedication and love of the job. He was a proud member of the 1,000,000 Mile Club, having driven over 5 million miles.
Jerry had a lifelong passion for classic vehicles and machinery. He enjoyed attending car shows, admiring classic cars and trucks, and spending time maintaining his lawn. His overall passion in life, however, was driving truck. He especially loved spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Kelly (Frank) Dorpinghaus, and Mike Morgan; grandchildren, Tyler (Emily) Morgan; great-grandchildren, Pryce, Evelyn, and Moriah; brothers, Bill (Meredith) Morgan, Del Morgan, and Ron Morgan; sisters, Jeanie Zubke, Charlene (Louie) Brakob, and Charlotte (Ron) Kieck; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Ardell Morgan; son, Jackson Morgan; and siblings, Bob, Richard, Shirley, and Sharon.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna, with friends greeting the family starting at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Jerry will be remembered for his hard work, and the joy he found in his family and the simple pleasures of life.
