Gregg Richard Peterson, 63, St. Charles

Gregg Richard Peterson, at the age of  63, passed away Feb. 2, 2019 at Whitewater Care Center in St. Charles, following a lengthy illness with COPD and pulmonary fibrosis.
Gregg graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 1973.  After graduating high school, Gregg enlisted in The United States Air Force, serving from 1973-1977.  Once completing his service, Gregg attended Anoka Technical Institute studying Horticulture and Landscape Management.
Gregg worked his entire career at the Zumbro Valley Golf Course as the fairways/greens keeper. He took great pride ensuring the fairways and greens were in top shape for the golfers. Gregg’s sense of humor would shine when he had the opportunity to sneak a piece of equipment into the woods and honk the horn mid-swing, causing the golfer to shank or whiff a shot. His belly laugh could be heard thought out the course.  Gregg is survived by his sister, Becky Christensen; niece Jackie Donahoe-Gunderson; nephews Jeff Donahoe (Sarah), James Donahoe (Crystal) and several great nieces and nephews.
Gregg was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Glenna Peterson.
In lieu of a service, memorials can be sent to Zumbro Valley Golf Course, P.O. Box 76, Kasson, MN 55944, to continue the improvement of the grounds.
