Harold Schoenfeld passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at his home in Owatonna, MN.

Harold August Schoenfeld was born October 9, 1947, in Waseca, MN, to parents Clifford and Helen (Proehl) Schoenfeld. He graduated from Medford High School in 1965.

He attended vocational school in Austin, MN, for two years for farm equipment mechanics.

Harold enlisted in the United States Navy in January of 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1971.

After his service, he worked as an over-the-road truck driver. After having two children, he quit truck driving to be home more often with his children and he began working at the Owatonna Canning Company. While at the canning company, he began his own business, D and H Yard Service. He married Diane (Currer) Kath on May 10, 2002, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Meriden.

Harold was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. in Owatonna, and the Royal Canadian Legion in Canada. He loved shooting pool and playing in league. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Meriden. He loved John Deere tractors, meeting with his classmates once a month, visiting his children and grandchildren in Canada, and he dearly loved talking with people.

Harold is survived by wife, Diane; children David (Lisa) Schoenfeld, Surrey, British Columbia, and Sirrekka Schoenfeld (Eddie Dainko) Mission Viejo, California; grandchildren Kaleb, Jacob, and Mya; siblings: Howard (Mary Jo) Schoenfeld, Faribault, MN, Gaylen (Bonnie) Schoenfeld, Lester Prairie, MN, Gordon (Margaret) Schoenfeld, Owatonna, and Sandra (David) Miller, Oxnord, CA. Additional survivors include Marlin (Tamara) Kath, Owatonna, Melvin Kath, Shakopee, MN, Merlin (Rhonda) Kath, Owatonna, Matt (Jill) Kath, Owatonna, and Mike (Shelley) Kath, Owatonna; 14 step-grandchildren; sister-in-law Anita Currer, San Jose, CA; brothers-in-law David Currer, Wokingham, England, and Ron (Jan) Currer, Dennison, MN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (2781 SW 92nd Ave, Meriden, MN 56093). Friends may greet the family from 9:00-11:00 AM prior to the funeral service at the church. Interment will be Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 1:15 PM with Military Honors at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
