Helen Kraudy, 85, Claremont

Helen B. (Conklin) Kraudy, 85, of Claremont, passed away on Jan. 7, 2026, at her home, surrounded by family.

Helen was born on May 19, 1940, in Ellendale, to John and Pearl (Smith) Conklin. She attended school in Ellendale and graduated from Ellendale High School.

She met Ernest Kraudy, and the two were united in marriage in 1964. Helen and Ernest raised their five children—Duane, Roxanne, Ernest, Scott, and Christopher—on the family farm.

Helen enjoyed gardening, canning, and crafts, but most importantly, she loved staying busy.

Helen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ernest Kraudy; her children, Duane Dale, Roxanne (Tom) Koranda, Ernest Kraudy, Scott Kraudy, and Christopher Kraudy; her sister, Eva Byram; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Velma Rossin; two brothers, John Kraudy and Melvin Kraudy; and her granddaughter, Lydia Kraudy.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at Geneva Cemetery.
