The man convicted last month of killing his former girlfriend and leaving her body under an overpass in Owatonna was sentenced Monday to 18 years in prison.
Jason Lee Horner, 41, is required to serve at least two-thirds of the 216-month sentence, or 11.8 years. With credit for 932 days already served, he could be out in just over nine years.
A jury found Horner guilty Nov. 20 of second-degree murder without intent while committing a felony, as well as an additional charge of possession of a firearm after being convicted of a crime of violence.
He was charged after the body of Sabrina Schnoor, 25, was found by worried friends on May 30, 2023. Several family members and friends spoke at the sentencing.
