Owatonna girls’ soccer has been heating up during the middle of the season and is currently on a five-game unbeaten streak dating back to Sept. 12.

The Huskies 3-0 against Rochester John Marshall (RJM) and tied Farmington 0-0 to keep the streak alive last week.

Against RJM, Owatonna showed off both its offense and defense scoring three times and shutting out the Rockets.

The Huskies put up one goal in the first half and added two more in the second to put away the Rockets.

Scoring for Owatonna were Kennedy Schammel, Jessica Fisher and Averi Vetsch.

On defense, Huskies’ goalkeeper Anna Mollenhauer saved the lone shot she faced – a testament to how her defense played for the entire 80 minutes.

Later in the week, Owatonna drew Farmington 0-0.

Each side had scoring chances, but the game was largely played at midfield with neither team able to find a hole in the opposition’s defense.

Owatonna will look to extend its unbeaten streak next when it faces Northfield at home on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.
