Evan O’Connor, 12, Owatonna, obituary, Health Track

Evan Thomas O’Connor, age 12, passed away peacefully in his room at Children’s Hospital, Minneapolis, with his parents and nurses by his side on Sept. 6, 2022, following complications from heart surgery.

Evan was born into his loving family with parents Tim and Jen O’Connor and brothers Logan and Shaun at the Owatonna Hospital on April 2, 2010. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, along with his many friends, and was loved by all.

Evan enjoyed playing golf, basketball, and soccer. He was a member of Cub Scouts, and he loved fishing, biking, drawing, music, video games and animals. He was the type of person who was always on the go, with a positive and energetic smile. He made friends easily, even with complete strangers. He was quick to volunteer and was always willing to help. He was the bravest, strongest, and kindest young man we ever knew, and he will always be greatly missed by all who met him.

Evan is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Walt and Bev (Mart) Boever.

He is survived by his parents Tim and Jen (Boever) O’Connor; brothers Logan and Shaun; uncle Jeff Boever; paternal grandparents Tim and Denise (Bolstad) O’Connor; uncle Ryan O’Connor and aunt Katie (Thrasher) O’Connor; cousins Louis and Quinn, aunt Bree (O’Connor) and uncle Joey Mayer; cousins Vivien and Emmi; great aunt Lisa (Bolstad) Ehlers; great aunt Pat O’Connor; great aunt Mary Jane (O’Connor) and great uncle Howard Carlson.
