Raymond Copp Sr., 77, Owatonna, obituary

Raymond William Copp Sr., age 77, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, at Koda Living Community in Owatonna.

Visitation service will be Monday, Aug. 29, 2022 from 11 a.m.– 12:30 p.m. at Brick Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna.

Raymond was born in Manchester, N.H. on March 30,1945. He served for the United States Military in the Navy. He was a Vietnam veteran and very proud of his service. After leaving the military, Raymond became a police officer for the Rochester, New Hampshire Police Department.

He married Betty Copp in 1977. They had two sons, Ray Jr. and Shawn. Raymond attended college at Saint Angelism University, receiving a bachelor’s degree. After completing college, Raymond and Betty moved to Owatonna where he began his career with the Owatonna Tool Company.

Raymond was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed participating and competing in many golf and bowling leagues and tournaments. Raymond spent many years coaching and teaching kids how to bowl as the Owatonna High School bowling coach. He loved seeing and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He was survived by his wife Betty, of 45 years; sons Ray Copp Jr., Owatonna, and Shawn Copp, Owatonna; and four grandchildren: Amaya “Noah” Stephens, Madysen Copp, Tyler Copp, and Caden Copp.
